This is the new work of the Ntountides/ses team that evolved into "Buluki".











Όταν οι ντούντησες και οι ντούντηδες βρεθήκανε σε ένα χωριό στην Εύβοια την άνοιξη του 2016 άρχισε να γεννιέται το μπουλούκι και ο παρών δίσκος . Η ανάγκη για ένα νέο όνομα ήρθε μέσα από τις αλλαγές στη σύνθεση και τις διαδικασίες της ομάδας.

Buluki was born when Ntountides/ses met in the spring of 2016 in a village of Evia for some days, to play, record and live together for some days. A new album and a new project was the outcome. The need for a new name responds to the changes in the formation and the procedures of the team.

Το ''μανιφέστο ενός νεαρού λαουτιέρη'' θα μπορούσε αλλιώς να λέγεται '' Δυο λόγια για την παράδοση'' ή "ένα ανθελληνικό παραλήρημα''. Είναι κάποιες κουβέντες πολύ σημαντικές για μένα που σχετίζονται με τη μουσική και την παράδοση. Για αυτό είναι σημαντικό για μένα να τις μοιραστώ με ανθρώπους με τους οποίους είτε παίζουμε μαζί, είτε ενδιαφερόμαστε για κοινές μουσικές και παραδόσεις. Σχόλια, αντιρρήσεις, προτάσεις ή τοποθετήσεις ευπρόσδεκτα..!

"Το μανιφέστο ενός νεαρού λαουτιέρη" could be translated as "The manifest of a young lutist" or have as alternative titles "A couple of words about tradition" or " An anti-greek delirium". It talks about things I have learned from playing traditional music but also my opinion or position against some aspects of the tradition. It is very difficult to translate such a big text in english, but I would be happy to give some more info to whoever is interested.

Γειά!

Έχω κάμποσο καιρό να ποστάρω κάτι, σήμερα όμως είναι έτοιμο ένα πολύ ωραίο πρότζεκτ που έγινε πριν λίγο καιρό στην Αθήνα. Μαζευτήκαμε λοιπόν με διάφορους πολύ καλούς φίλους, και παίξαμε και τραγουδήσαμε μαζί κάποια κομμάτια. Καινούρια κομμάτια, που τα ηχογραφήσαμε και μόλις τα ανεβάσαμε και στο νετ! Τα στέλνουμε σε φίλους με σκοπό να εξαπλώσουμε την τραγουδιστική και μουσική αρρώστια. Δεν έχουν δικαιώματα, μπορείς να τα πάρεις και να τα κάνεις ότι θέλεις. Να τα τραγουδήσεις, να τα αλλάξεις, να τα χρησιμοποιήσεις. Μόνο να έχεις σκοπό την αγάπη και να μην τα χρησιμοποιήσεις ύπουλα για εμπορικούς/ χρηματικούς σκοπούς.. γιατί τότε όλοι αυτοί οι υπέροχοι άνθρωποι που τα τραγουδάνε θα θυμώσουν η θα στεναχωρηθούν.. Στο υλικό που έχει ανεβεί υπάρχουν και στίχοι, και αν χρειάζεσαι βοήθεια για τη μουσική στείλε μου μεηλ στο dimitrisathanas@hotmail.com !

This post is about a project that took place recently in Athens. We gathered with some nice people and sung some new songs all together. Download One And A Half Circle album!

Hey everyone,

It's been quite some time since we recorded our first and only album with One And A Half Circle at my home. Actually it's been exactly two years, and we all admit that we never promoted it to let some more people listen to it, so,  this is the time!





The instruments of the band and friends recorded on the cd are drums, bass, guitar, saxophone, harmonica, trumpet and electronics. There are also some vocals in a couple tracks. Moves quite close to reggae, sometimes post rock and has been composed mostly through jamming.

New CD "Forty Rules To Make A Sound"

Hello!

This is the moment! Today I upload this CD that we have been working on with friends for the past couple months. It has 12 tracks and all of them are music made with voice and improvisation. It is actually 12 ideas, that can change anytime and actually keep changing. So, let's say that this CD is a version of these ideas. This means that you can also take them and do something new with it. Feel free to sing them and improvise on them, or to take samples from these recordings and make something new! Forget about copyrights! (except if your purpose is to make money with them, in which case I will be very mad at you! :) )

BaboDona, impro CD-trip with Aris and Vincent!

Hello!

SO, today I upload a really special CD with the name "BaboDona"that we had been working on with two friends in the past months. These two friends are Aris and Vincent. They are very good friends that live in London and study filmmaking in the same school. A couple months ago they visited me in The Hague for some days and, for some unknown reason, we started playing music and improvising every day. So, we thought, let's start recording everything and that's how this CD came out. For me, personally, it is very important because it was the birth of a lot of ideas that I used later for improvisation and a very inspiring period that gave me the motivation to start organizing some improvisation sessions. For Aris and Vincent, it is important for other reasons I guess cause it is something that we all did for the first time and had an amazing time discovering.

Two more things before saying goodbye. First, thanks to Sivan who is also taking part in some of the tracks.

For The Record -new release-

Hello everyone!

Today I finally upload a new release that I have been working on the past months.

It is actually two techno pieces that are made completely out of acoustic sounds.These sounds are the same ones that I used for the previous release "A Professional Result". So if you listen both you might recognize some stuff!

It is very important for me that I get some feedback on this project. It is the first time I make this kind of music and I am not really sure on how to go on with it.

If you are a DJ and you would like to play this music in a party, please tell me! If a couple people do it, it can motivate me to print some LP's for this release.

This music is meant to be danced, so don't hesitate, put it loud and do it!

New CD "A Professional Result"

Finally, I am uploading my third CD after one year.It is called "A Professional Result" and was recorded in the summer of 2012 in Athens.

I think that it is quite different from what I've done before so I will say a couple words about it.

It is a mix of electronic - acoustic music and some guitar.
The main ingredient is various recordings that I made throughout the year in The Netherlands.
These could be sounds of machines, people, gatherings/ jams with friends, sound of the nature or ambience of various places.There is also a lot of guitar in the cd, this 10-year old classical guitar I have which was the first one that I ever layed a hand on and became obsessed with music.

While recording the cd and with the help of some friends, I made cd cases from carton and gave it to about 60 people so that everyone draws their own. Then I took them back and when the cd was finished we made a gathering and gave them out to friends who came.

The download incldes two folders.
The first is the tracks of the CD in mp3 format.
The second one is some extra material concerning the CD.
This material is all the covers that people drew and a folder with some sounds that I used a lot in the CD in their initial form.

This is an experiment for me, I can't even explain how I ended
up writing this music or if I will write stuff like this in the future.
But I feel it is much more closer to my thoughts and myself
than the previous ones. So It would be very nice to talk about it

We are also working on an event to present this cd with some video art- installations,
